About Provider

About Deneisa

Growing up in west Texas, I was raised to be kind and giving with strong faith and family values. As a schoolteacher and counselor, I understand navigating the education system for both children and parents. With 15 years at a behavior hospital, I've worked with every type of mental health struggle. Depression is common in West Texas, and self-care is so important. I use many therapy types including play therapy, sandbox therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and EMDR. Your treatment plan is created with your input and tailored to your needs. My schedule is flexible to accommodate work and school demands.

Using CBT and play therapy, I help people reach their mental health goals. Some need just a few sessions to get where they want to be; others benefit from ongoing support. Everyone is different. Some people just need to be heard, while others need coping skills or support with life decisions. We work together to find what works for you.

I'm constantly learning because mental health work is always changing. Working with all ages, I've discovered everyone has an inner child, so age isn't what matters—happiness is. Don't be afraid to take that first step and see if I'm the right fit for you. My flexible schedule works with West Texas life. I love new patients and look forward to helping you.

Get to know Deneisa

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I too struggled with depression from heredity and personal struggles and a great counselor made all the difference.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I love all ages, but teen boy and small children are the least listened to in our society right now so my heart goes out to them.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Many are worried that they would be forced to take medication, that is t last resort for anyone in mental healt including me.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

The first session is usually to establish a relationship and see if we work good together. But I like to make sure *everyone leaves feeling better and understands their treatment plan.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

Learning and listening to my client as well as problems in life with my family have helped me to be empathetic.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I ask often for the patient's feedback and listen to their concerns.
