What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are open to finding new things about themselves and exploring the root cause of some of their obstacles in life.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Therapy takes time, patience, and a willingness to change.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because of their passion to help clients, and hire therapists who posses that same passion to want to help clients.
What inspires you?
I have always found client progress to motivate me. It is an amazing feeling to see when clients have obtained their goals in therapy.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Client can expect me to offer a warm inviting first session and allow for rapport building between therapist and client.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Within the first session, I would like to be able to establish specific goals the client wishes to accomplish in therapy, as well as build a safe environment for client and therapist.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I always allow the client to drive the session and allow the client to freely express what is on their mind. I will provide you the tools and knowledge that will help you with your struggles.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy spending time with my wife and family, as well as enjoy engaging in outdoor activities.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I always seek to find the good in people, and non-judgmental.
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
Growing up I loved the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. It is about a young boy who has an imaginary pet tiger. I always thought growing up how great it would be to talk to someone about your thoughts and emotions and not have to fear any judgement or ridicule. It was not until later in life I realized a strength and drive to want to be that person someone could talk to about their thoughts and emotions.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients that are not afraid to venture into new territories of their thought process and emotions.
