About Provider

About Cheryl

I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) passionate about helping people break free from patterns that keep them feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. I work with adolescents and adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, life transitions, and substance use concerns. Many of my clients come to therapy seeking relief from emotional pain, healthier relationships, greater confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose. I provide a supportive, honest, and judgment-free space where healing and lasting change can happen.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented. I draw from evidence-based therapies including CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed care to help clients develop practical coping skills, improve relationships, manage emotions, and build confidence.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to face life's challenges alone. Whether you're seeking healing, clarity, or personal growth, I'd be honored to walk alongside you on your journey. When you're ready, I invite you to take that next step toward the life you want to create.

Get to know Cheryl

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became a counselor because I am passionate about helping people navigate life's challenges and discover their own strength and resilience. I have always been drawn to understanding people's stories and believe that everyone deserves a safe, supportive space where they can feel heard without judgment. Witnessing clients gain insight, overcome obstacles, heal from difficult experiences, and create meaningful change in their lives is incredibly rewarding. I view counseling as a collaborative process and feel honored to walk alongside clients as they work toward growth, healing, and a more fulfilling life.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with adolescents and adults who are motivated to better understand themselves and create meaningful change in their lives. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, low selfesteem, life transitions, or substance use concerns. I especially enjoy working with individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected and are looking for practical tools, emotional support, and a safe space to process their experiences while building a healthier, more fulfilling future.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is not a linear process. Growth often includes setbacks, difficult emotions, and moments of uncertainty, but that does not mean you are failing. Therapy is not about being "fixed"—it is about gaining insight, building skills, and learning to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion. Meaningful change takes time, and every small step forward matters.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where we begin getting to know one another. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals for treatment. There is no pressure to share everything at once. In the early stages of therapy, we will work collaboratively to identify patterns, develop meaningful goals, and begin building practical tools to help you manage challenges and create lasting change at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice is guided by the belief that every person has inherent worth and the capacity for growth, regardless of their past experiences or current challenges. I value authenticity, empathy, resilience, and the importance of creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and respected. These values shape my commitment to meeting clients where they are, honoring their unique experiences, and helping them build on their strengths as they work toward meaningful and lasting change.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I believe that no two clients are alike, which is why I tailor therapy to each individual's unique experiences, strengths, goals, and challenges. I take a collaborative approach, drawing from evidence-based methods such as CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and traumainformed care to meet each client's specific needs. Together, we create a personalized treatment plan that supports meaningful progress while honoring the client's pace, preferences, and values.
