About Carla
I've worked in social services since 2013 and as a therapist since 2019. I work with individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what comes next and are ready for support. My goal is to create a comfortable, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and work toward the changes you desire. I believe therapy should be personalized—everyone's experiences and needs differ. Together, we build coping skills, improve communication, strengthen relationships, navigate transitions, and help you feel confident. Whether seeking practical tools, self-understanding, or a safe space to process, I'm here to meet you and support your movement.
My approach is trauma-informed and evidence-based. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These help you understand thought-behavior connections, process experiences, develop coping skills, and move toward meaningful life aligned to values.
Starting therapy can feel challenging. You don't need everything figured out beforehand. Wherever you are, I meet you with compassion and without judgment. If you're ready to understand yourself better and create meaningful change, I invite you to schedule an appointment. You deserve support as you move toward greater confidence and fulfillment in your life.
"I see therapy as a collaborative journey, and I strive to meet each client with compassion, curiosity, and genuine respect for their unique story and experiences."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a therapist because I have always wanted to help others feel supported, understood, and empowered to create positive change in their lives. My experiences working in social services showed me how meaningful it can be to walk alongside people during some of their most challenging moments. I wanted to build on that experience by providing a safe space where individuals can feel heard, develop the tools they need to move forward, and recognize their own strengths. Ultimately, becoming a therapist has given me the opportunity to make a meaningful impact not only in the lives of my clients, but also in the community I serve.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish every client knew that therapy is not about having all the answers or “fixing” everything overnight. Healing takes time, and there will be good days and hard days along the way. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Our first few sessions will be spent getting to know about you and your unique circumstances bringing you to therapy. We will set goals as well as an action plan, so we both know what to expect from our work together moving forward.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe therapy should be as unique as the person sitting in front of me. I take time to understand each client’s experiences, strengths, goals, and what feels most helpful to them, then tailor my approach accordingly. I use a variety of evidencebased techniques and work collaboratively with clients so therapy feels practical, comfortable, and meaningful to their individual needs.
