About Angelica
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist with over 20 years of experience. I am honored to come alongside individuals facing challenges in relationships, anxiety and depression, and difficult or traumatic experiences. These can lead to hopelessness, despair, fear, shame, and guilt, and I appreciate the opportunity to help those in need find hope, purpose, meaning, restoration, and joy. I also work with young children, preteens, and adolescents and their families navigating situations like divorce or sudden loss, as well as couples who wish to repair and rebuild.
My approach is to join you as a guide through your healing journey, almost like a therapeutic Google Map—you stay in the driver's seat. While we're together, you'll be in an environment free of judgment where you can be truly seen and heard. Younger clients will have a creative space to communicate through play and process the chaos and stress around them.
Therapy can feel vulnerable and is sometimes seen as a sign of weakness. In truth, seeking help is a sign of strength and bravery. We were wired and built to do life together, and your motivation to seek help is actually you doing what you are built to do. I truly hope and look forward to working with you so you can see what is possible for your life.

"As one who has witnessed and experienced the impact of complex trauma, I have a deep sense of empathy and understanding of how emotional wounds can cloud our ability to live fulfilled lives."
Get to know Angelica
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have always had a desire to help others, and I grew up with loved ones who suffered from the wounds of complex trauma. The effects of trauma can wreak havoc on our relationships with others and even our relationships with ourselves. This oftentimes led to receiving harsh judgment from those on the outside looking in, which fueled a cycle of guilt and shame. No one should ever have to live under the burden of worthlessness or hopelessness. Everyone is worthy to seek help without feeling judged, and to have someone be patient enough to walk with them as they find solutions and healing.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with individuals, couples and families who are motivated to see change in their lives and are willing to being to take the steps towards creating that change. Sometimes the motivation can fluctuate and be high one day and low the next, and I'll be with you through the low times so that in the end you can look back and see how much you have grown.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Addressing your mental health is just as important as maintaining your physical health. As a matter of fact, many times, your mental health and physical health are interconnected. Therapy does not mean that you are broken or a bad person. Therapy is just another tool to help keep you healthy and strong.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
When we meet for the first time, we will go over the goals for therapy, conduct a brief history and self care assessment, and then create a treatment plan together, which will include a foundation in mindfulness and self care. The early stages of therapy will help build your confidence in mindfulness and self care practices before taking a deeper dive into the emotional wounds and challenges that are causing distress.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My core value of respect and integrity of all guide my direction as a therapist. I firmly believe that each individual is worthy of living a fulfilled life and that each individual should have the opportunity to see what that can look like for them if they are truly seeking.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Not all challenges are created equal and neither should therapy. My goal is to build a firm foundation in our therapeutic relationship so that what I teach you and guide you through feels relevant for your specific situation. After all, you are taking the courageous step of trusting me with what is weighing you down. So I will work with you in a way that is deserving and worthy of your trust.
