"You see what living in today's world requires. What used to work doesn't make sense anymore, but the demands of change and maintaining life and family don't let up."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
A fascination with the human brain led Alexia to become a Counselor because her reflective nature also drew others to her as a child to discuss their lives, including children who were much older than her.
What types of clients do you work with best?
If you're a self-starter and task-oriented person, Alexia is a good fit for you. Alexia finds that individuals who prefer to come to a solution to apply to their lives going forward, rather than going around on the same issues tend to gravitate to her.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Alexia positively lights up when working with action-oriented self-starters who want to build something! Whether that "something" is themselves, their lifestyle, their legacy, their skillset, or business(es)!
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Alexia would like all clients to remember that they are worth way more than the spaces they fill, and that they were created as walking ANSWERS!
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Alexia chose to practice at Thriveworks because they too provide tools to empower the people they serve. She appreciates the articles and the attention to Evidence-Based Practices.
What inspires you?
Alexia is inspired by the pursuit of purpose. She recognizes that beside everything we see and enjoy in life, it's all meant to lead us to, not away from the purpose we were put on earth to accomplish, and is to be a consuming [and empowering] focus.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
You can expect to hit the ground running with Alexia. Together we'll discuss what you'd like to accomplish in counseling. No pressure! If you have a hard time expressing it, we'll start with what doesn't work with how things are going now. If you've been in counseling before and are back for more, I'd love to hear what worked for you in your previous counseling experience(s) elsewhere and what did not work for you. Then we'll discuss creating a roadmap for your counseling treatment that will be designed to get you to your goal(s).
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In your first session with Alexia, what's important is that you have a space to express the major issues that you want to first tackle. You being the center of attention is indeed what counseling is all about, but it can be new at first! If more things unfold to you over time and you'd like to bring it to your sessions, please do! My focus is identifying the targets (issue, goals) and setting your expectation for counseling whether you're a first-timer or returning to continue your self-care.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Counseling is a private experience, so you should be alone at the time of your session and sitting still within the state of Texas during your sessions. If you're going to be traveling, driving, or outside of Texas, please schedule your session at a time you can be undisturbed and on Texas soil.
Gain some normalcy and comfort with the counseling process by scheduling your first three sessions at a consistent interval for smoothest adjustment.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Alexia writes nonfiction and is currently the author of two personal development books and writing her third of a series!
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I'm dedicated to discovering the depth of who Alexia is, including her essence. It goes beyond action and titles, but how I think and what that thought produces in my life and consequently the lives of those around me.
