About Alejandra
Alejandra Hayden is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Texas with 9 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Alejandra has worked with clients to help them navigate their trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and much more.
After graduating from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology in New York City, Alejandra decided to continue her education in Texas. Alejandra graduated with her Master of Arts in Family Therapy from the University of Houston - Clear Lake.
When it comes to therapy, Alejandra utilizes ART (accelerated resolution therapy) relational, collaborative, strength-based, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, trauma-informed, solution-focused, and Gottman approach to assist her clients in meeting their goals. Alejandra tailors her sessions based on the client’s needs by remaining consistent in her flexibility, creativity, and awareness as she helps individuals and couples discover and utilize their unique strengths.
Alejandra understands that therapy can be intimidating at times. As such, she makes certain that she finds the right balance between listening and helping clients expand beyond their comfort zones by creating a safe, caring, and trusting relationship with each person. Alejandra ensures that she collaborates with you so that you are not only meeting your goals but also discovering your personal strengths, values, and desires to live your life to the fullest.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor because I love helping others, and helping to connect the pieces to form the bigger picture.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Teens and Middle aged clients who struggle with trauma and anxiety.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Teenagers
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all my clients knew that they have the potential to grow and change inside and my job is to help that side of them come out.

I chose Thriveworks because they care about the clients as much as I do.
What inspires you?
Seeing how happy and excited my clients get each time they take a step towards their goals always makes me more determined and inspires me to do my best.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Client can expect to get a run down of therapy (especially if it's their first time), along with some information gathering and some tools to get you started.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want to make sure above all that I hear the client's main concerns, and where they want to be. My goal is to make sure my client feels heard, and knows that they can trust me with any information.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
During my time off I love to cook, be outdoors, and kickbox.
