Get to know Nona

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I decided to become a counselor when I took my first psychology class in college and became fascinated by the brain and relationships!

What types of clients do you work with best?

I enjoy all types of clients as long as they are open to improving their life.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

You are not alone and this can get better!

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I love the options Thriveworks has for clients and therapists. There is always support and that matters!

What inspires you?

Seeing people work hard.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

I strive to put my clients at ease and let them lead the information gathering. The intake is the first session, so I need certain information but once I have what I need, I’m all ears!

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want that person/people to feel better than they did before we met.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

Identify strengths and remind them of how they complement each other.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Play in nature, wood work, read, Netflix!!

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

Honesty
