Get to know Jacqueline
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I saw how counseling changed my own life for the better, and wanted to do the same for others.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
How much I love animals!
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Great flexibility for clinicians and ease of access for clients seeking help.
What inspires you?
Art, cooking, animals, and watching people's lives change for the better
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A lot of listening on my part. The more I know and understand about a client, the better I am at helping them develop a comprehensive plan for healing.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
To understand exactly what that person expects to get from treatment. What brought them to see me and what is their ultimate goal.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Play with my dogs, read, watch at least 3 hours of mindless TV to give my brain a break.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I'm very good at remaining objective - without judgement. I believe judgement and opinions have no place in a therapeutic relationship.
