Get to know Danielle

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

Becoming a therapist was never part of my plans. Junior year of college, while I was pursuing my undergraduate in Theology, I was thinking and praying about what was next. I had never thought about counseling but it came to mind. I volunteered at a pregnancy center as a Life Coach and knew counseling was for me.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with clients that are ready to grow their self-awareness and are open to trying a new way of dealing with emotions.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am most excited to work with clients that are stuck and willing to do anything to experience change.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Therapy can be an experience of joy, fun, and freedom.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Thriveworks provides amazing work-life balance. The clients tend to be highly motivated and working with other quality therapists/supervisors brings out the best in me!

What inspires you?

I'm inspired by meaningful relationships, joy, freedom, and reconciliation.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

A relaxed session where I get to know them and where I express genuine interest in what concerns them.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want to get to know my client's story and what makes them who they are. I also want to develop thorough knowledge of how their struggle developed, so I can know how best to help them.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

I'm fun, flexible, and dedicated to their experience of healing.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as traveling, zumba, painting, reading, and knitting.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

My belief that life is meant to be lived to the fullest.
