About Provider

About Beverly

I am a licensed professional counselor with a mental health service provider designation (LPC-MHSP) with 14 years of experience supporting adults through stress, relationship concerns, emotional challenges, and major life transitions. My approach is practical, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based care. I help clients strengthen self-awareness, build resilience, and create meaningful change at a pace that feels safe and empowering.

I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Mercer University. My work integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based methods, solution-focused strategies, and a person-centered approach. I tailor treatment to each individual’s needs to support clarity, balance, and long-term well-being.

I believe you deserve a space where you feel heard, supported, and understood. Together, we will explore what’s holding you back, build practical tools for relief, and move toward the changes you want to create. If you’re ready to take the next step, I’m here to help you move forward with confidence and intention.

Get to know Beverly

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a counselor because I believe therapy opens the door to a deeper level of peace, clarity, and self-understanding. I’ve always been drawn to the process of helping people make sense of their inner world—why they think, feel, and react the way they do—and supporting them as they discover healthier patterns and more fulfilling ways of living.

I also believe that emotional growth and spiritual growth often go hand-in-hand, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help clients connect with the peace and clarity God desires for them. Being a counselor allows me to walk alongside individuals as they heal, gain insight, and experience the kind of growth that brings real peace to their minds and lives.

What types of clients do you work best with?

Women ages 40-60

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Healing is not linear. There are several twists and turns along the path to healing and you are probably doing much better than you realize!

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In our first session, clients can expect a laid-back, welcoming, and completely nonjudgmental environment. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, exploring what brought you to therapy, and identifying the goals you’d like to work toward. I want you to feel safe, heard, and comfortable being yourself from the very beginning.

In the early stages of therapy, we’ll focus on self-exploration, building insight, and understanding the patterns that shape your life. I may offer practical tools or gentle homework assignments to help deepen your growth between sessions. And while we’ll do meaningful work together, I believe laughter, authenticity, and even moments of lightness are just as important in the healing process.

For clients who desire it, I’m also open to incorporating faith and the role God plays in your journey toward peace and clarity.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My work as a therapist is deeply influenced by my belief that God has a plan and purpose for each of us, even when life feels confusing or heavy. That belief shapes the way I show up for clients—with hope, compassion, and confidence that growth is always possible.

I also draw from my own journey of learning what it truly means to know and love myself. I understand firsthand how powerful it can be to unlearn old messages, break patterns that no longer serve you, and embrace healthier, more life-giving ways of thinking. These experiences allow me to sit with clients from a place of empathy rather than judgment.

Because of my own growth, I value authenticity, patience, and the willingness to explore what’s happening beneath the surface. I believe healing involves both insight and action—understanding where patterns come from and learning new ways to live that feel aligned with who you truly are. These values guide my work and help me create a space where clients feel supported, empowered, and understood.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I believe every person’s story is different, so I start by meeting clients exactly where they are—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually if they desire. I don’t assume what someone needs; instead, I take the time to understand their experiences, strengths, and the patterns shaping their life.

Rather than giving clients the “right” answers, I help them uncover the answers already within them. I support their autonomy and encourage them to take an active role in their healing journey, while gently highlighting any internal conflicts or barriers that may be standing in the way of their goals.

My approach is flexible and collaborative. I draw from different therapeutic tools and perspectives based on what works best for each individual—whether they need structure, deeper self-exploration, practical strategies, or space to process. And for clients who desire it, I’m open to integrating faith-based insight, recognizing how spiritual perspectives can strengthen and guide the healing process.
