About Veronica
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 26 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with adults who are navigating trauma, anxiety, chronic worry, self-esteem concerns, and relationship challenges, including the impact of domestic abuse. My clinical background includes extensive experience helping clients understand relationship dynamics, recognize unhealthy patterns, and process trauma in a supportive and thoughtful way. I support clients who feel stuck in patterns of self-doubt, emotional distress, or unhealthy relationships and are seeking clarity, confidence, and healing.
I earned my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Bernard M. Baruch College. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, creating space for clients to explore their experiences at a pace that feels safe and empowering.
If you are looking for a supportive environment to work through emotional pain, gain insight, and move toward meaningful change, I offer a calm and respectful space where you can share openly, identify goals, and develop a plan that supports healing, growth, and healthier relationships. I invite you to reach out when you feel ready to begin.

"As one who has experienced personal trauma, I have an authentic understanding of how we are impacted by painful life circumstances and how building new life skills can empower us once again."
Get to know Veronica
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a Counselor because I wanted to help others struggling with trauma and emotional difficulties.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adults who are willing to implement tools to make changes in their life.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish clients knew that therapy, mental health, or the healing process is collaborative. I will work WITH you.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice. With CBT, we will look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have been impacted by some of the issues I help guide people through. I learned tools that helped me and I want to help others leave therapy better than when they started.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy to meet each client's unique needs by first finding out what they would like to work on. We then collaborate to find tools the client wants to implement. The next step is implementing the tools and checking in to see if we need to continue or make changes. In the end, the client has a number of tools that they can utilize on their own.
