Why did you decide to become a counselor?
As a pre-teen I went through my own challenges and sought help from my school counselor. They were not helpful in the ways I think they should have been. Ever since then I have wanted to be someone who helps others navigate through difficult times, without judgement. Everyone deserves a safe place and person to help them facilitate positive change.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
There is not one thing you could say that would cause judgement from me. I am here to listen, and assist you in whatever you feel is not working for you in your life.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I love the support of a full team of individuals, and the ability to take on more clients who needs help because of our large team of therapists.
What inspires you?
Every time a client expresses to me how their lives have changed positively and that they believe I played a role in that.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
During the first session we will go over some of the more formal expectations/consent forms, and I will gather background information. We will spend the rest of the session discussing your goals and your reasons behind seeking my counsel.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want to establish rapport, gather information, and leave them with at least one new tool to practice before the first session.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love spending time with my family, at the beach, at home, anywhere. On the weekends I am often watching my oldest child’s soccer games, or with the family at the pool, park, or movies. Exercise is also my favorite activity when I have alone time!
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I thrive on helping people live the lives they deserve to live. Non professionally, I love meeting new people, and planning trips with my family for some relaxation and quality time.
