About Samer
Samer Sayed is a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Clinical Practice and a trained mental health clinician with over 3 years of experience in the mental health field. He works with his clients to help with relationships, career difficulties, life transitions, anxiety, parenting, school issues, and many other challenges. Samer completed his Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Louisville. He is a trained clinician and a social worker and sees his clients up close, especially their environment and how it impacts their lives. This enables him to provide the guidance and support his clients are seeking.
Samer utilizes multiple treatment approaches including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor because helping others and improving lives give me satisfaction and happiness.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I feel excited when I see the progress my clients make.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I would like my clients to know that change is possible with positive attitude, knowledge, and practice.

I decide to work for Thriveworks because of the healthy work environment, flexibility, and the great feedback from both, clients and counselors.
What inspires you?
People who help others even when they are not asked for that.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, we will go through short assessment and focused-diagnostic evaluation. Then, you will receive my feedback and the initial plan for treatment.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I would like to build a professional therapeutic relationship with my clients, so they feel welcomed, heard, and respected.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I am organized, supportive, open-mind, respectful, non judgmental, and humanistic.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I am happy to share with my clients that I like hiking, reading, meditation, listening to music, and traveling.
