Get to know Robert

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work well with all client's. However, having experienced trauma myself, I have an authentic understanding of its difficult effects. In addition, my career as an educator has given me a firm foundation for helping parents and children.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am most excited to work with clients that have experienced trauma and are struggling with its effects. I am also excited to work with those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and self-control.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I do not have all the answers; I am merely a guide. What you are looking for is already within you.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I choose to work at Thriveworks because it is the premiere company in the counseling field. It values its clients and clinicians--and this is apparent in the efficiency of its service to both.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by the creativity and resilience of people. I am most motivated by my family and wish to work hard and be of service in their honor.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

In the first session, we will begin building our counseling alliance. Your voice will be heard, your needs will be valued, and the foundation for your treatment plan will be established based on your input.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

The aim of our first session is to establish a safe space where you can express yourself freely and to identify your needs.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

Before you a client schedules their first session with me, they should know that they will be expected to put in work outside of session. I do not have the power to change your life, but you do. However, I will be with you every step of the way!

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

In my time off I love tending to the flowers in the yard, writing poetry, working out, yoga, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends. And I am a life-long, die-hard Steelers fan--here we go!

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I believe a meaningful life is one of service, and I know I can not live the life I hope for everyday without the help of others.
