About Rachel
Rachel Borem is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 6 years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked with a wide range of ages to include adolescents, adults, and older adults from a variety of cultural backgrounds. She is passionate about working with people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions.
Rachel completed her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Rachel utilizes multiple treatment approaches to include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy (SFT), and person-centered therapy (PCT).

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have a desire to help others struggling with the inevitable hardships in life. I enjoy coming alongside people and offering a listening ear, safe environment, empathy, and my own personal experiences to help facilitate change and begin taking steps towards healing.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I have worked with a variety of clients culturally and age-wise. I work best with clients who are willing to be engaged in the counseling process and open to personal change.

I'm most excited to work with clients who are willing to be engaged and open to change!
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That despite life’s most challenging circumstances, there can still be hope and purpose.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by God, the beauty in creation, good books, my children, and people in general!
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session will be for building rapport and obtaining basic information regarding your circumstances and why you are pursuing counseling. I desire to be personable and make clients feel comfortable.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want to have an idea of what brought someone to counseling, and their goals moving forward in the counseling relationship.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I spend time with my family and enjoy different types of exercise!
