About Natalie
Hello! My name is Natalie Zolnierzak, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in South Carolina. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2019. My career began in a school-based milieu, providing skill-based interventions for student crisis and emotional dysregulation, then moved into specialized mental health care for suicidal adolescents in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. Most recently, I supported individuals with End Stage Renal Disease, providing psychosocial support, advocacy, and strengths-based care for their emotional, social, and medical challenges.
In our sessions, we will explore connections between behaviors, feelings, and thoughts. I believe past experiences shape who we are through unconscious drives and early experiences. "Connecting the dots" is crucial to self-awareness and creating meaningful change. I incorporate Psychodynamic, CBT, Strengths-Based, DBT, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy.
I admire individuals who bring their personal history, unique worldview, and own values to therapy. As your therapist, I see it as essential to embrace these aspects of you to help you on the path to change. My aim is to empower you to better understand your genuine self and to help you evolve by building healthier insight into your desires and goals.

"I believe in the power of connecting with individuals at a deeper, meaningful level. Life can unexpectedly pose challenges, where it can be incredibly difficult to navigate. My goal is to uplift individuals during distressing times, all while instilling hope, optimism, and resiliency. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My purpose in life is to help others during difficult times, and to understand their needs at a deeper level. During my undergraduate career, I became astounded by human behavior and human psychological processes. Therapy is not a "one size fits all approach," rather, a uniquely tailored individualized plan for all individuals. I am honored to walk this path with you.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Ages 10- 65+.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Mental health can be objectively viewed in a negative light, where bias and controversy is present.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Individuals may experience a range of emotions, expectations, and fears. It is important I meet individuals where they are, where they can experience a sense of safety and comfort during our discussions.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I aim to build rapport through curiosity and active listening, ensuring clients feel heard and understood.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Based off of our initial assessment and your preferences, integrative treatment plans will be based off of your priority concerns. We will identify the best therapeutic method to meet your existing needs.
