I have specialized in working with people who are suffering from depression, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), adjustment challenges and life transitions, parenting transitions and struggles, and interpersonal conflict. The majority of my experience comes from counseling individuals diagnosed with major depression and anxiety disorders to include PTSD, and Severe and Persistent Mental Illness.

My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental environment of mutual trust. I use an integrative approach, primarily relying on cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused strategies, with a trauma-informed perspective. I also draw upon expressive art therapy, play therapy, narrative therapy, and relaxation/meditation techniques.

I believe that I am not the expert in your life, rather that expert is you. Through a strong therapeutic alliance, we work together towards solving challenges and problems. I firmly believe that people can heal through the power of the therapeutic partnership between client and therapist, while implementing new skills that improve their situations.

"As your clinician, I am committed to personalizing the counseling experience based on your needs."

What types of clients do you work best with?

Clients who are self-motivated and do prefer a more direct and interactive approach to care versus passive.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Healing takes place outside of the therapeutic alliance as much as in the session. There is an active role the client has to take to really evoke change work.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy

I enjoy providing psychoeducation during the first session after the intake/assessment.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I have experienced different setbacks during my life that have allowed me to personally relate to various adverse life events.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I like to meet clients where they are at! I take a very collaborative role with my clients.
