Melissa Anderson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. Melissa specializes in a holistic, trauma-informed approach, supporting clients through grief, chronic illness, stress, and emotional trauma. She is deeply committed to honoring each client's unique journey and fostering healing in a safe, supportive space.
Melissa earned her Master’s in Social Work from Western Carolina University and uses a person-centered, strengths-based approach to therapy. She integrates mind-body practices and trauma-informed care to support healing. Melissa meets clients where they are and collaborates to set realistic, meaningful goals for growth.
Melissa believes it’s a brave and empowering act to seek support. She feels honored to walk alongside her clients and invites you to reach out when you're ready. Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
As a clinician I have been blessed to work with so many unique and special people. It’s not always an easy process but I am grateful for the opportunity to walk with someone through their struggles and successes.
What types of clients do you work with best?
The best clients are those that are willing to open themselves to the process. Our time together is yours to focus on what is most important to you
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
It’s so exciting to see clients progress! Clients that are open to thinking, feeling or behaving in a new way are my heroes.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish clients knew that they were perfectly made and they deserve support and kindness always.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Our first session will be an introduction to each other and the space we will share. There will be some questions and you will have the opportunity to share what is important to you
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Comfort and safety are first and most important. During our first session my goal is to be sure you feel heard and acknowledged
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I come to each session ready to listen, support and work to provide the best care for you.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
For fun I enjoy adventures with my children, swimming and live music/entertainment
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My own struggles with adversity guided me to my career, pushed me to reach my goals and now allow me to have peace.
