Get to know Melissa

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

As a clinician I have been blessed to work with so many unique and special people. It’s not always an easy process but I am grateful for the opportunity to walk with someone through their struggles and successes.

What types of clients do you work with best?

The best clients are those that are willing to open themselves to the process. Our time together is yours to focus on what is most important to you

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

It’s so exciting to see clients progress! Clients that are open to thinking, feeling or behaving in a new way are my heroes.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish clients knew that they were perfectly made and they deserve support and kindness always.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Thriveworks provides clinicians with everything they need to be successful and they align with my focus on client experience and access to care

What inspires you?

Witnessing clients growth and better understanding of themselves and others inspires me

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Our first session will be an introduction to each other and the space we will share. There will be some questions and you will have the opportunity to share what is important to you

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

Comfort and safety are first and most important. During our first session my goal is to be sure you feel heard and acknowledged

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I come to each session ready to listen, support and work to provide the best care for you.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

For fun I enjoy adventures with my children, swimming and live music/entertainment

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

My own struggles with adversity guided me to my career, pushed me to reach my goals and now allow me to have peace.
