Mary E. Belk is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in treating adolescents, adults, and seniors coping with difficult life transitions, relationship struggles, grief, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and behavioral concerns. She enjoys working with clients to uncover the root causes of their challenges and develop tailored strategies to overcome them. Mary has worked in settings including hospice care, nursing homes, hospitals, and community health clinics.
Mary graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Master’s in Social Work. She uses evidence-based techniques and approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and client-centered interventions to help clients gain insight into their experiences, build resilience, and adopt healthy coping skills.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have a passion for mental health treatment to enhance one's quality of life.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Clients who are motivated to make positive changes and actively engaged in the therapeutic process are ideal.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I really enjoy clients who are passionate about gaining insight and self-awareness. I enjoy providing psychoeducation during sessions to empower clients.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that mental health treatment is just as important as treating physical health conditions. I wish to reduce the shame and stigma associated with mental illness.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy reading books, spending time with my dogs and cats, and visiting family.
