About Kimberly
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC)with 13 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and major life transitions. I take a compassionate, person-centered approach and strive to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered as you begin your healing journey. I work with adults and adolescents, helping clients address emotional overwhelm, unresolved pain, and patterns that keep them feeling stuck or disconnected.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Regent University. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches to tailor treatment to your needs, build coping skills, deepen insight, and support lasting wellness.
I believe healing grows through trust, clarity, and connection. My goal is to help you move forward with confidence and purpose. You can expect a supportive space to explore challenges and strengthen your resilience. If you're ready, I would be honored to walk with you toward growth.

"As a compassionate, person-centered therapist with more than a decade of experience, I use evidence-based approaches to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered as you heal, grow, and move toward your goals."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a counselor because I’ve always felt called to walk with people through their most difficult seasons and help them rediscover strength, meaning, and hope. I believe that healing happens in relationship — when someone feels truly seen, heard, and valued. My own experiences, both personal and professional, showed me how powerful it can be to have a safe space where you can be honest about your pain and begin to heal. Becoming a counselor allows me to combine compassion with evidence-based practice, guiding others toward growth, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are navigating significant life challenges, including trauma, moral injury, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. I especially support individuals who are ready to explore their experiences in a safe, nonjudgmental space and are motivated to engage in personal growth and healing. I also work well with clients who value a collaborative, strengths-based approach, and who are seeking practical tools alongside deeper self-understanding. While I have specialized experience with veterans, survivors of trauma, and those facing moral or ethical conflicts, I welcome anyone committed to creating meaningful change in their lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is rarely linear — it’s normal to have progress, setbacks, and moments of doubt along the way. Therapy is not about “fixing” you, but about creating a safe space to understand yourself, build resilience, and develop tools to navigate life more effectively. Change often happens gradually, and even small steps are meaningful signs of growth. Being patient and compassionate with yourself is just as important as the work we do together.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In your first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment where the focus is on getting to know you and understanding your story. We’ll discuss your current concerns, your goals for therapy, and any relevant personal or medical history. This is also a time for you to ask questions and get a sense of how I work, so you can feel comfortable and informed. In the early stages of therapy, we’ll focus on building trust and establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. Together, we’ll identify patterns, explore your thoughts and emotions, and begin developing practical strategies to manage stress, navigate challenges, and support your overall well-being. The early phase is about laying a foundation for lasting growth while ensuring you feel safe, supported, and empowered in the process.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I tailor therapy by first listening closely to each client’s story, goals, and challenges, ensuring I understand their unique experiences and perspective. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches—such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, narrative work, and trauma-informed care—selecting strategies that best align with the client’s needs, strengths, and values. I also collaborate with clients throughout the process, adjusting our approach as they grow and their goals evolve. This individualized approach ensures that therapy is both relevant and practical, supporting meaningful progress at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.
