Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?
Kathleen's client who reported the most success was someone who came in with a lot of inner turmoil. They experienced intense emotions, a lot of anger, and had a negative self image. However, they came to therapy determined to put in the effort inside and outside of session. They tried different coping skills and put in research on their own time; bringing into session what they had learned. This client also worked on being patient with themselves. There were several times that an issue they wanted to work on required more time to resolve then they were hoping for. However, this client kept practicing their coping skills and reminding themselves of their goals and overtime they were rewarded with progress.
