Why did you decide to become a counselor?

The most common response from counselors is "I like to help people." It is no different for me. Over the years, though, the reason has evolved into sharing information that will be beneficial for others.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish all clients knew how much ability they have to change their lives.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Thriveworks has extensive resources for counselors which translates into high quality treatment for clients.

What inspires you?

The resiliency of the human spirit.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

The first session involves the intake of a client's information. We will also delve into what brought them to therapy and what they would like to accomplish.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

My approach is fairly straightforward, although supportive and gently challenging. I use a Cognitive-Behavioral approach and am flexible in terms of the needs of the people with whom I work. Honesty and truthfulness are critical parts of a therapeutic relationship.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love spending time with my family. I greatly enjoy listening to audio books.
