About Jaimee

Hi, I'm Jaimee, a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-CP) working in behavioral health since 2019. I work with a range of clients, including those facing anxiety, depression, and everyday life struggles. I also work especially well with queer and neurodivergent clients — as someone who is both, I understand how hard it can be to navigate a world not built for you, and to have real struggles dismissed as laziness. My goal is to create an authentic space where you can be yourself without judgment, whether you're exploring your identity, working through anxiety or depression, or learning to navigate this world.

To create an authentic space, I show up authentically too — laid back, down to earth, and not pretending to have all the answers. I listen with curiosity, not judgment, and offer insight and education along the way. Ultimately, this is your journey — we focus on the goals the client wants to work on.

I look forward to getting to know you as a person and supporting you through it. I believe true empathy sometimes means not fixing anything — just sitting with you in the dark, trapped feeling, when nothing else feels like it can help. That's something I can do. Taking the first step can be hard, but you don't have to do it alone.

Get to know Jaimee

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became a therapist because I grew up feeling unheard and unseen, even when surrounded by people. I learned early on that I was good at listening and helping others feel seen. That grew into a passion to be the person I wish I'd had. I want people to feel seen and heard in my office — to know that they matter.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who identify as queer or neurodivergent, as well as adults navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions. As someone who is both queer and neurodivergent myself, I bring a genuine understanding of what it's like to navigate a world not built for you.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Healing might not look like what you expect. Many people hope to find a cure or a fix, but not all symptoms fully go away. Sometimes healing is about reducing symptoms and their impact, and learning to sit with emotions as they come up. Life will always have its ups and downs, but therapy helps us learn to manage struggles in healthy, constructive ways.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

The early stages are about learning — I'm learning about you and your goals, and you're learning about me and my approach. I ask clients to give it at least 3 to 5 sessions to see if I'm a good fit. If I'm not, that's okay — we can work together to find someone who is.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the foundation of real change — more than any specific technique. I also believe healing happens at each person's own pace, not mine. My role isn't to push you somewhere before you're ready, but to walk alongside you as you get there.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I let the client lead. Every person comes in with different goals, pace, and comfort level, so I adjust my approach based on what each client needs rather than using a onesize-fits-all method. My focus is on meeting you where you are.
