Elizabeth Henan is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 4 years of experience. She helps clients develop healthy communication and conflict resolution skills, offering a nonjudgmental, welcoming space that prioritizes their goals and supports them through life’s challenges. She works with adults facing anxiety, depression, self-harm, isolation, and life transitions, as well as couples working on healthy communication and conflict resolution.
Elizabeth earned a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and is certified in prepare and enrich training for couples.
Elizabeth believes healing begins in a safe, inviting, and comforting space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. She is dedicated to walking alongside each person in their journey, offering compassionate support and empowering them to embrace change, build resilience, and create the life they envision. Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Elizabeth chose to become a counselor because of her passion to help others by being a listening ear, a safe place for others to express their thoughts and emotions. She believes creating a nonjudgemental, comforting environment can make a significant difference in the lives of others.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish that every client knew that I understand counseling is a daunting experience but it is worth it. You have the opportunity to explore your thoughts and emotions, examines areas and relationships in life you want to improve and grow with each goal that is set.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by the needs I see in the communities around me. I have a passion for learning and helping others articulate their needs, explore deep hurts and set goals for healing and growth.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Each client can expect a welcoming, nonjudgemental space where client and clinician get to know one another, explore that client's needs and set goals for their therapeutic journey.

Our first session is focused on understanding the areas that you want to work on, and setting goals you want to achieve,
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Please know I understand the first session of counseling can be hard and at times awkward, You are in a safe, welcoming, nonjudgemental space. Feel free to take your time and ask questions.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy spending time with my family and reading for fun, specifically Jane Austen novels.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My love for helping others is one thing that defines me. I am to be the person that listens when a friend is in need.
