About Bailey

Bailey is a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Clinical Practice in South Carolina. She has experience working with children, teens, families, and adults dealing with such issues as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, behavioral issues, and general stress. Bailey’s passion is working with children and families as they learn, grow, and navigate life’s challenges. She fosters an encouraging and safe environment for everyone including, but not limited to, those in the LGBTQIA+ community. Bailey hopes that through this environment, people feel open to discussing their life’s struggles and goals and feel empowered to make changes when needed.

Bailey completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Kentucky. She uses a person-centered, strengths-based approach in order to help people realize their full potential. She utilizes an eclectic approach of interventions, integrating such treatments as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy in order to address people's concerns in a well-rounded manner.

It's no secret that life is hard. Through collaboration, goal-setting, and small changes, Bailey believes you can reach the goals you are striving for. She knows that it's not always going to be easy, but that it will be worth it. If you feel ready to take the next step, schedule an appointment with her today!

Get to know Bailey

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I became a counselor because, growing up, I knew I wanted to help make a difference in people’s lives in some way. I realized through interactions with friends and family that I was a great listener and enjoyed helping people navigate the different obstacles they encountered. As I learned more about the mental health field, I realized this would be a perfect fit for my skillset and would provide a way for me to empower and support others.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with clients who are either ready to make some changes or considering making changes. Change can be daunting, but once you've decided or even thought about it, we can work together to make it happen!

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

That everyone struggles and they are not alone. A lot of times people get stuck in their heads thinking no one can understand what they are going through and so why bother asking for help? I hope clients know that no matter what they are going through, there are people willing and able to help.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

In your first session, I'm going to be honest, you should expect a lot of questions. It can be initially overwhelming, but all the questions are important for me to get to know you and know more about what you are seeking from counseling.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I hope that we are able to determine if we will be a good fit for each other and start discussing some goals for treatment moving forward.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

In my free time, I like to travel, try new restaurants, hang out with friends and family, and spend time with my dog.
