Get to know Alex

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a counselor as a way to help others. It is important for people to have a safe place with no judgement where they can share and work through issues to allow them to become an improved version of themselves.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with clients who are struggling and may need a little extra support to help them meet their goals.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I'm excited to work with motivated adults who are ready to make a positive change in their life as a way to improve themselves for the better.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish that all clients knew that they don't have to go through difficult times alone and there is a therapist out there that will take the journey with them so they won't have to go through it alone.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I chose Thriveworks because of the flexibility that it gives. I offer in person or virtual sessions as a way to meet clients where they are without barriers.

What inspires you?

It inspires me to see a client's progress throughout the therapeutic relationship and being able to see the strength they have within them that they didn't see before.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

I foster an environment of safety and no judgement. My goal is to ease any negative feelings or thoughts about therapy by allowing my personality shine through to take a journey together to help them reach an improved version of themselves.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want to get a picture of who they are as a person to identify strengths and weaknesses to determine the best approach for them.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

They don't have to come into session perfect, just ready to do the work.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I love to laugh.
