Hello, I am Michael Esposito. I’m an LMHC and LCDP. I typically work with clients who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. I treat clients with ADHD, depression, anxiety, and adjustment to changes in life like retirement, marriage, parenting, and career changes. My approach to each client is trauma informed. I am here to support you in achieving your goals in therapy. I want to help you be the best version of yourself.
I utilize a person centered approach to every client. I use motivational interviewing, DBT, CBT, and narrative therapy. I can work with adults, children, families and couples.
I am here to always support my clients in their process of change and I’ll always take this mission to be of service to my clients with empathy and compassion.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I had a family member who struggled with Bipolar Disorder in my early twenties. I wanted to understand what was happening to my family member and my family system. Ultimately I wanted to help people who struggled with similar problems.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with all clients.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
The therapeutic process is all about the client’s journey towards a more healthy and independent life.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Compassion, acceptance and flexibility.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I grew up with a great education and privilege. But I was always sensitive to other peoples feelings. In 2019 I had an unexpected catastrophic medical condition. Which I recovered from. I returned to work in 2020 amidst a global pandemic. And it was then that I realized my mission has always been to be of service to my community.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I adapt my approach to fit each individual client.
