About Samantha
Samantha DeFelice is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 10 years of experience. She is focused on helping adolescents and adults to achieve their goals. Samantha previously worked in community mental health and saw a variety of mental health issues and other life challenges while in that field. Samantha specializes in anxiety, depression, self-esteem, understanding core beliefs and how that impacts the choices we make in life and is open to working with people with all types of life challenges.
Samantha completed her Master's degree in Counseling at Missio Seminary (Previously Biblical Theological Seminary). She does not feel this limits her to just a faith-based setting though and after working in community mental health for 8 years has had a lot of experiences to grow in that area. Samantha utilizes client centered and goal centered approaches initially with clients to determine the best way to work with client on what they want to focus on. Once goals are established client centered care is utilized to continue the focus on what is best for the client in any given session.
Life comes at you fast and is constantly changing. Sometimes we are prepared for the challenges and sometimes we are not. Samantha is prepared to support you in navigating those challenges and finding what steps to take to feel confident to do so. Schedule an appointment with her today.

"As a female and a mother, I understand the difficulty of trying to balance work, being a parent, and life in general."

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I wanted to help others. Many people told me over the years that I was a good listener and empathetic. I took this and turned it into something that I felt could help others.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Anyone who is open to making changes, growing and working on being self-aware. Everyone has something to offer and it’s a joy to help people heal and find themselves.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That I can't work harder than they can. It's important for them to want to make changes and growth for themselves. And that growth sometimes feels stagnant, we don’t always see the changes that happen internally as quickly as we want on the outside.
What inspires you?
People trying, seeing someone learn something new and the excitement that goes with that.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Gathering background information and figuring out what direction the client wants to go in.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I'm very caring, empathetic and really want to help people make the change that feels right for them.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Reading, trying to be creative in some form, Recently got into learning about rock tumbling, spending time with my family, going for walks, journaling.
