About Melanie
Melanie Morgan is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. She provides a wide range of therapeutic services tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual and family she serves. Melanie works closely with youth and their caregivers to foster positive attachment patterns and nurture hope for current and future relationships. Her areas of clinical expertise include the treatment of depression, anxiety, impulse control disorders, and the everyday stressors that come with life’s challenges for individuals, couples and families.
Melanie earned a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Chatham University. Using a trauma-informed approach, Melanie creates a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences and build resilience. She is trained in ecosystemic structural family therapy.
Melanie’s mission is to help individuals, couples and families recognize and strengthen their inner resources throughout the outpatient treatment process. She is dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental space, where clients, families and couples can feel heard and supported because true healing begins with empathy, trust, and a genuine human connection.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a therapist to help others recognize their own greatness and potential. I'm passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families as they strengthen positive attachment, deepen connections, and build on the inner strengths they already possess.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I believe that individualized treatment is essential for meaningful progress, and I tailor my treatment to meet the unique needs of each client, couple, and family. I work well with clients at all stages of readiness for change, and I acknowledge and respect the courage it takes to begin that process. Change is hard, and I’m committed to walking alongside my clients as they navigate their own path toward healing and growth.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I love working with clients of all ages and backgrounds!
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients to know they are resilient and already possess strengths that can be powerful tools in their healing and growth.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because it allows me to connect with clients both in person and through telehealth, making care more accessible and flexible. Thriveworks serves a diverse range of clients across all ages and needs, which aligns with my passion for providing individualized treatment for individuals, couples and families.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the process of hope and healing, and I genuinely celebrate the small wins that help clients move toward their goals.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, clients can expect to begin building trust and connection as we explore what brought them to therapy and work together to identify and treatment goals through the co-discovery process.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, the client and I will complete any necessary documentation, ask any questions necessary for the treatment process and schedule for upcoming sessions.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am warm, empathetic and motivated to help individuals, couples and families reach their goals!
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my time off, I enjoy being outdoors; camping, kayaking, hiking, fishing, and relaxing by the lake, pool, or creek. I also love spending quality time with my family and animals.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I would say one thing that defines me is I am very driven. I’m naturally curious, love learning new things, and enjoy new adventures.
