Lisa Mawhinney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 25 years of experience serving individuals coping with trauma, addiction, and mental health disorders. She discovered her passion for behavioral therapy early on, driven by a childhood shaped by adversity and resilience. Lisa has worked in clinical settings including community health centers and nonprofit organizations, where she recognized the impact of trauma on mental health and the importance of empowerment through evidence-based interventions. Her approach is rooted in empathy and collaboration, fostering a therapeutic alliance that supports healing and personal growth.
Lisa received her Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University. She utilizes techniques including existential therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, multicultural therapy, reality therapy, family systems, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based techniques.
