About Lauren
I am a licensed associate professional counselor (LAPC) with 2 years of experience supporting clients through life changes, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, eating disorders, and OCD. I also have experience working with veterans and individuals navigating trauma. I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors, and aim to create a space where clients feel understood and supported.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. My approach integrates techniques that explore thoughts, emotions, and behavior. I tailor each session to the client’s needs and prioritize collaboration to help them work toward meaningful goals.
Starting counseling can feel intimidating, so I focus on creating a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe and supported. You deserve to be validated, seen, and heard as you work toward healing. If you’re ready to take the next step, I’m here to walk with you—let’s begin whenever you’re ready.

"As a neurodivergent person who has struggled with mental health, I understand the importance of feeling seen and understood, as well as developing a toolkit of coping skills that caters to every person's unique needs."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My decision to become a counselor was shaped by my own challenges, which showed me how powerful support and understanding can be. Those experiences helped me recognize that my empathy and passion for helping others could make a meaningful difference. Most importantly, I want to help people discover the confidence and strength they already have within themselves so they can heal, grow, and move toward the life they want.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with a range of clients across multiple demographics. I especially work best with those who take time for self-reflection and recognize that work can also be done outside of sessions. Seeing people make even the smallest bit of progress is very rewarding, and I enjoy pointing it out to let them know their work is paying off.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
It takes time and patience. Change is definitely possible; however, it is not linear. Imagine change like a roller coaster, it has ups and downs, twists and turns, and eventually there's another one to ride. Take time to recognize progress happens and it's okay to slip up, as long as you get back on the ride.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect to feel safe, seen, and heard. They can expect a warm, supportive environment. As for the early stages of therapy, time will be taken to explore and prioritize goals, identify strengths and develop strategies, and provide guidance on your journey to well-being.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
First and foremost, my own experience with counseling informs my practice, as I know what it's like to be the client and recognize how hard it can be to show up every week. Additionally, values such as collaboration, empathy, and hope guide my sessions, knowing that working together and maintaining a sense of faith are vital.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I take a collaborative approach to make sure the therapy fits each client’s needs. I bring a range of strategies and coping skills, but the most important part is finding what actually works for the person sitting in front of me. When clients tell me something doesn’t feel helpful or doesn’t seem to work for them, it gives me the information I need to adjust and offer something that fits better. This ongoing communication helps us shape a process that feels comfortable, effective, and truly personalized.
