About Karl
Karl Vieweg, Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, has 3 years of experience supporting individuals managing depression, anxiety, trauma, anger management, mood disorders, grief/loss, and major life transitions. He values building strong client connections and uses a collaborative, person-centered approach that respects each individual’s unique experiences and cultural background.
Karl earned his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. He draws from dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other person-centered modalities to meet each client’s needs and goals in a safe, supportive therapeutic environment.
As someone who’s been through therapy myself, I understand how vulnerable it can feel to ask for help. I’m here to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported every step of the way. It would be an honor to walk with you on your path to clarity and emotional well-being.

"Having been through therapy myself, I know how hard it can be to open up to someone or ask for help during tough times."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Even before his training, Karl had a keen desire to help his community. He worked in various roles to support those he cared about, but found that the work he was most drawn to was on a person to person basis. After his own experiences in therapy, he was inspired to pursue his degree in clinical mental health counseling to continue to support the community.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
The clients Karl is most excited to work with clients who have never participated in therapy before. In Karl's eyes, to help open the door to healing for another person is one of the most fulfilling experiences a clinician can have.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Karl wants all clients to know that he loves to laugh and believes it is essential to fostering a deeper connection in therapy. He wants clients to know that working with him is a safe, exploratory environment where no thoughts or ideas should be shoved aside. It's okay to feel foolish sometimes, therapy is a journey, and to deny yourself the ability to wonder is to stifle your growth.

In a first session, Karl strives to get a sense of what the client wants to accomplish by participating in therapy and to get a general sense of their personality.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Clients looking to schedule a first session with Karl should know he's very flexible and willing to answer any questions they may have.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
