About Justin

Justin Voss is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Pennsylvania, with a master's degree in clinical social work from Temple University. He has completed training in motivational interviewing, trauma-focused CBT, attachment based family therapy, and extensive workshops in trans related care following his graduate education. His primary area of expertise is working with young adults/adults that identify under the LGBTQ+ umbrella. Justin's clinical interests include LGBTQ, sexual identity, gender identity, kink, polyamory, and non-monogamous relationships.

Justin completed his Master of Social Work (MSW) from Temple University. Justin utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, blending models of solution-focused, narrative, and attachment-based therapies. Utilizing various approaches allows for a more personalized approach to the therapeutic process.

Life is a journey of facing continual challenges and growing through them. Justin believes that exposing ourselves to these difficulties and rethinking how we approach them allows us to learn and build new ways to overcome struggles. If you are ready to explore the complexities of identity and its impact on our mental wellness, don't hesitate to reach out!

Justin is incredible, 10/10. The only thing that can be difficult sometimes is not having a direct contact in case I'm going to be a few minutes late or something similar. But Just....

Get to know Justin

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

The short of it is to help people. We all have complex identities, and ways of thinking, coping with our difficulties, and I love being a part of folks journey to start and see things in different ways.

What types of clients do you work with best?

Folks who are motivated, and unafraid to be challenged.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

My main speciality is gender and sexuality, which can often be taboo to talk about in many settings. I am often very exited to process life transitions and journeys of personal growth in these domains.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

You are not alone in how you are feeling.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

This is a supportive environment where we are given the freedom and trust to practice without judgement.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

In our first session, I like to take the opportunity to have a light conversation where we get to know one another. I will give a sense of who I am, and how I practice, and of course come to an understanding of what made a person make the call to seek help, and how I can support them in overcoming their difficulties.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I spend a lot of time with my corgi (Sigmund), and tuxedo cat (Darwin), relaxing with a seemingly endless pile of books, play video games, train for races (I'm a runner), and socializing with friends. I would love to get back to traveling more in the near future!
