Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I wanted to become a counselor to be able to help and be there for others during times where life not be so easy. I had people in my life when life got to be more challenging and hope to be that for others.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I have a lot of experience working in addiction work, and have experience working as a school based therapist. My experience ranges from 4 to 94 and everywhere in between.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I love working with all kinds of clients weather you know therapy is for you and are ready to get started or someone might have strongly suggested therapy for you. It is exciting for me to meet clients where they are.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Life can be hard, but you do not need to do it alone.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks is a great opportunity to have a hybrid experience to give clients the option on meeting in person or online.
What inspires you?
As cheesy as this might sound, seeing others happy inspires me the most.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session it is always important just to get a feel for one another and see if this relationship will be a good fit. I like to get to know what brings one to therapy, and opening the space to make it a safe and comfortable spot.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session I want to start the process of getting to know each other and setting up some goals for what the client wants out of therapy.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love taking walks and playing with my Beagle (Ruthie)!
