What I appreciate most about my experience here is, I feel heard and I DON'T feel alone. A big part of suffering with your mental health is the feeling that no one understands where you are.

My therapist gives great feedback and listens. It feels more like a conversation than me just talking. Really helps improve my mood and the way I think about myself.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
From a very early age I have loved helping people. I am a naturally inquisitive person, so I like to figure out what makes things tick, and I believe that helps me in being a counselor.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I try to work well with all clients. I am willing to adapt my style to the needs of the client.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
All of them. I have worked in case management, addictions in a clinic setting, and private practice work. I never know who I'm going to meet, and I like that.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that they deserve to be happy in all aspects of their lives.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose Thriveworks because they are dedicated to helping all clients. They have services that work in the background to help the client and therapist focus on sessions.
What inspires you?
The "ah ha" moments that clients get when it all clicks.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I will try to gather all of the information I can, but we don't have to stick to the strict intake questions that many have become accustomed to during a first session.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I always try to establish some rapport with my client during the first session. That is very important, so the client wants to keep coming back.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love spending time with my kids, reading, watching TV & movies, enjoying great food, and sleeping. When you have two kids sleeping becomes one of your favorite past times.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I don't think I could pick one thing that defines me. I believe all of my experiences throughout my life have gotten me to where I am today.
