About Guilhem
Guilhem Combet is a Master’s Level Clinician working towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He is deeply committed to working with adolescents and adults to help them address the unique challenges they face and discover new ways to navigate the stressors of life. He specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, and self-esteem. Guilhem completed his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology at Franklin & Marshall College and his Master of Arts (MA) in Mental Health Counseling at New York University.
Guilhem’s professional experience enables him to determine the best way to support his clients that is personalized and focused on the unique aspects of their challenges. He utilizes multiple evidence-based treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have always had a passion for helping others. This passion led me to discovering my ability to connect with people who are struggling to find meaning in their lives and help them uncover their strengths to enact positive changes.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I am most experienced working with adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, and self-esteem.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am so excited to work with clients who are motivated to put in the work and are ready to begin their journey of self-discovery and healing.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that seeking out support is a tremendous accomplishment in itself.

What inspires you?
I am always so inspired by the positive changes my clients make, no matter how small, and the pride they take in themselves for making those changes.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect to feel relaxed and safe during their first session with me. I am here to listen and support you with any challenge you may be facing.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Let’s get to know each other and begin to think about some of your goals that we can strive for during our time together! We will always go at a pace that is most comfortable for you.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Meeting a new therapist for the first time can sometimes be intimidating! I am very accommodating to all of your needs and I am always here to help. I care deeply about my clients and continuously work to give them the best help that I can provide.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love playing video games, listening to music, watching sci-fi shows/movies, hanging out with my cat Milo, and spending time with friends.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is my deep compassion for others. I find immense fulfillment in connecting with people, understanding their experiences, and offering support when needed. This compassion shapes my actions, relationships, and decisions, guiding me to approach situations with empathy and kindness.
Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?
A client I worked with had been struggling to find meaning in his life for many years. He had felt that his situation was a “lost cause” and nothing could make his life better. During our time together, I was able to help him recognize moments - both big and small - where his negative thinking had changed. Through the work we did, he was able to successfully change his outlook on life and feel confident in his ability to become the person he always wanted to be.
