About Crystal
Crystal Somerville is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 20 years of experience in various mental health settings, including in-home therapy services, crisis, mobile therapy, and outpatient services, as well as residential boot camp for gang members/juvenile offenders from inner city Philadelphia, Delaware, and Maryland. Crystal works with families, couples, adults, and adolescent clients seeking help in managing issues related to attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anger, trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar, adjustment, panic disorders, behavioral issues, and self-injurious behaviors.
Crystal completed both her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Religion-Youth Ministry and her Master of Arts (MA) in Professional Counseling at Liberty University. She is trained in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) for teen substance abuse, behavioral therapy, CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. Crystal utilizes a very honest, direct, client-centered approach. She also enjoys incorporating art into therapy.
Crystal seeks to establish a strong, therapeutic relationship with you in order to assist in building on your strengths and better collaborate with you towards meeting your goals. Her mission is not to judge, but to lift the fallen, restore the broken, and encourage healing.

Building therapeutic rapport and me getting to know something about them.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want to give them something to walk away with that they feel like they can now have hope.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Kayaking, camping, hiking, being outdoors, dancing, walking, writing poetry, getting massages.

My faith is my foundation. My God is my strength.
