Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have always had a passion for helping people and have struggles with my own mental health. My counselors have helped me so much over the years and I wanted to be able to do that for someone else.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
The hardest part of therapy is showing up. The rest will come naturally if you find the counselor that is the right fit for you.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session will be paperwork and getting to know each other. I will give you a brief summary of who I am and ask you some questions to get a better idea of who you are and what it is you are looking for.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
The goal of the first and sometimes even second session is to see if we are a good match. If you don’t connect with your counselor it makes therapy much harder. So we will work on building rapport and seeing if you feel I am the right counselor for you.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
On my time off I love to be outside. Hiking, pool, beach, just relaxing in a park. I have 2 children, a dog and 3 cats and love spending time with them. I love board games, escape rooms, mini golf and any other friendly competition.
