Tina is passionate about making positive contributions to the well-being of her clients. Tina understands the challenges of living with chemical dependency, anxiety, depression, different forms of abuse, and the immediate and long-term effects of trauma. She recognizes the unique needs of every individual and therefore treats everyone with respect and dignity. She has a genuine passion for therapy; she's goal-oriented, results-driven, compassionate, and nonjudgmental.
Tina has a degree in social sciences and a master of arts in mental health counseling. Tina utilizes therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, client-centered therapy, and reality therapy to name a few. She is also trained in family behavior therapy.

Get to know Augustina
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became interested in counseling because I have the calling and drawn to helping people. I'm also curious and wanted to have more understanding of how the human psyche works including myself, what drives us , what is beneath the surface of some of the decision making and behaviors we exhibit. I want to help people to become more aware so they can take control of their own lives. I like to advocate and being in the caregiving career is my way of contributing to the wellbeing of individuals who come my way.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients know that they are not alone in their struggles and they have the power within themselves to thrive, to control and or manage life challenges.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I wanted the opportunity to be a part of a wonderful group of people who share same vision and passion to help individuals struggling through life due to mental health problems.

My faith and family.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
My clients can expect to feel safe and comfortable to share whatever it's in their heart and thoughts and expect to feel supported and validated.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want them feel heard, feel safe, validated and be hopeful that they can take control of their lives.

They're going to meet someone full of compassion who is ready to listen to understand , withhold judgement and provide support.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I like to be around family and friends.
