Andrew Coyle is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. Before his move to Thriveworks, he worked in the Philadelphia area with underprivileged individuals, providing positive and compassionate care to clients. Andrew’s clinical experience has demonstrated his ability to build positive therapeutic relationships with clients of all ages and backgrounds. This clinical expertise has helped Andrew’s clients to reach their therapeutic goals, specifically with mood disorders, depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, familial stressors, and Autism.

A life-long Philadelphian, Andrew first grew an interest to help others from St. Joseph’s Preparatory School. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York, and his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the Loyola University of Maryland.

Andrew provides a patient-centered, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral approach to expand client insight into the stressors which reduce your quality of life while empowering them to build the skills to reduce the impact of and to better manage those stressors. While his therapeutic tool kit encompasses skills from a variety of different styles, Andrew primarily utilizes acceptance and commitment therapy, which blends cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based stress relief, as the vehicle for change.

These testimonials are from real clients who completed a satisfaction survey after their sessions and agreed to share their feedback. Results may vary.

It's been so difficult to find a counselor that I connect with and can work with my schedule. Although I avoid having men on my care team, I think Andrew is going to be good for me

Andrew is professional, personable, compassionate and engaging.

I already sent a group text out to my colleagues. It is hard to find good therapists in-person and that accepts our insurance so I wanted to share right away!

My provider is fantastic, for one, and the overall experience has improved, especially regarding the login process. I'm really grateful for the help and guidance I've been given.

Get to know Andrew

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I decided to be a therapist to work in a profession that help others on a daily basis, but I am too squeamish to be a doctor or nurse.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I'm most excited to work with clients who are looking to work with and move past the difficult experiences in their life that they feel continue to hold them back.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

The belief that our problems are unique and special is a way hopelessness/helplessness can keep us from engaging with treatment.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I enjoy Thriveworks helping me with the business aspect so I can focus more of my time on the clients.

What inspires you?

The chance to help someone's day get better each and every session, no matter how the day has gone previously.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

A friendly but focused information gathering session to allow me to better understand who you are and what brings you to Thriveworks.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want to have the client leave feeling heard, understood, and a feeling of accomplishment for taking the first step in bettering their mental health.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I enjoy walking/hiking with my dog, playing board games with friends, going to any and all Philadelphia sporting events, and trying out new recipes that challenge my cooking or baking skills.

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

Nothing makes me happier than getting a laugh out of others, or, at the very least, myself.
