About Tessa
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 9 years of experience supporting adolescents, adults, and couples through life’s most challenging moments. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and mindfulness-based healing. My approach is person-centered, allowing you to guide the pace while I offer evidence-informed interventions that help you explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals in a safe, supportive space.
I earned my master’s in professional counseling from Liberty University. I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness-based work to support emotional growth and resilience. I am also trained in EMDR to help clients process trauma and move toward lasting healing.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but you do not have to walk this journey alone. Together, we will explore the parts of your story that need attention, compassion, and clarity. I will meet you with warmth and encouragement as you take meaningful steps toward becoming the healthiest version of yourself.

"As an experienced counselor, I strive to bring an authentic presence to every session, enabling clients to connect and share the most vulnerable aspects of themselves."
Get to know Tessa
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor after experiencing a traumatic event in childhood and receiving counseling for the first time. That counselor made a massive difference in my ability to cope with a difficult situation, and I knew that I wanted to make that kind of difference in other people's lives.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with teens and young adults who are starting to explore adulthood. I work well with couples from various backgrounds. I have done good work with women who are parenting and men who are struggling with anxiety.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
The relationship is the key to positive change. My focus on relationship building will support them more than any intervention I could teach.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Relationship building. They can expect me to give them space to bring important topics into the session. If they are struggling to know what to talk about, I will start bringing in coping skills for them to consider.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
As a parent and wife, I value family and relationships, as they are vital to optimal functioning. I also value people trusting their intuition and knowing what is best for them.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
By listening to what clients want and need. I trust they know themselves the best.
