About Provider

About Lourdes

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 8 years of experience supporting individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves and others. I specialize in helping those navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and self-worth concerns. My goal is to provide a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can gain insight, build emotional resilience, and move toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for them.

I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. My work blends evidence-based practices with deep empathy, drawing from approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered counseling. I focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel seen, valued, and empowered in their journey.

I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for help, especially when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. I offer a compassionate, client-centered space where you can explore your struggles without judgment and at your own pace. Healing is possible, and I am here to walk alongside you as you take steps toward growth and well-being.

Get to know Lourdes

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became a counselor because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people on a deeper level—what shapes them, what hurts them, and what helps them heal. I believe that meaningful change begins in safe, compassionate connection, and I’m honored to be part of that process for others as they find their voice, reclaim their strength, and move toward the life they want

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with clients who are ready to explore their inner world, even if it feels uncertain or uncomfortable at first. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, self-esteem, or relationship patterns they want to change. I especially connect with those who are insightful, curious, and open to doing the deeper emotional work that leads to lasting growth

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I’m excited to work with clients who are seeking meaningful change.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish all clients knew that they don’t have to have everything “figured out” to start therapy—your confusion, pain, and questions are welcome here. You are not broken; you’re human, and healing is a process that starts simply by showing up, just as you are.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I chose to practice at Thriveworks because of their strong commitment to accessible, high-quality care and their supportive, client-focused approach. Thriveworks offers a professional community that values growth, connection, and flexibility—allowing me to focus on what matters most: building meaningful therapeutic relationships and helping clients thrive.

What inspires you?

I’m inspired by the resilience of the human spirit—the way people continue to grow, heal, and show up for themselves even after pain or hardship. I’m also deeply moved by moments of genuine connection, vulnerability, and insight in therapy; witnessing those shifts reminds me why this work matters.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

In your first session with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where you’re free to be yourself without pressure or judgment. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and any questions or concerns you have. My goal is to understand your story and help you feel safe, supported, and truly heard from the very start.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

In our first session, my goal is to start building a foundation of trust and safety. I want to understand what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and how you’ve been coping so far. More than anything, I want you to leave feeling heard, respected, and a little more hopeful about the path ahead.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

Clients should know that I bring warmth, curiosity, and a nonjudgmental presence to every session. I believe in meeting you where you are, at your own pace, and working collaboratively to understand what you need. You don’t have to have the perfect words or a clear plan—just a willingness to show up as you are.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

In my time off, I enjoy activities that help me recharge and stay grounded—like exercising, outdoor activities, or spending quality time with loved ones. I also love exploring new places, listening to music or podcasts, and finding small moments of creativity or laughter in everyday life.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

One thing that defines me outside of my professional life is my deep appreciation for meaningful connection—whether through heartfelt conversations, shared experiences, or simply being present with others. I value authenticity, and I’m always seeking to grow, reflect, and live in alignment with what truly matters to me.
