About Erin
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 18 years of experience supporting individuals facing addiction, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. I have worked in hospital settings, community mental health, and crisis environments, providing care to individuals experiencing acute mental health and substance use challenges. My work is grounded in creating a supportive, respectful space where clients feel safe to share openly and honestly.
I have a master’s degree in community counseling from Fort Hays State University. My approach is strengths-based and individualized, allowing me to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. I focus on identifying personal strengths and building skills that support long-term recovery and emotional well-being.
I am committed to helping you feel heard, understood, and supported as you work toward meaningful change. Together, we will identify your goals and develop practical strategies to help you move forward with confidence. I look forward to supporting you as you begin or continue your journey toward healing and a more fulfilling future.

"As someone with lived experience with mental health issues, I believe that recovery is always possible."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
As someone who has experienced mental health issues and recovered, I know that recovery is possible and likely to occur. I strive to be the therapist that creates that non-judgmental space so that my clients can be seen and heard therefore recovery can and will occur.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with all types of clients and have recently counseled clients from the age of 11 to 89. I enjoy working with clients who can be real and authentic.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish that all clients knew that recovery is possible as well as it is absolutely possible for you to live the life that you envision for yourself.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session with me, I will be trying to be a close rapport with them and establish a relationship. I want the client to know that this is a safe environment where you can say anything and be truly honest, while having my respect for being willing to go through this process.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
As someone with lived experience, I take my personal experiences into treatment with me. I know that most environments can have some close mindedness and I strive to ensure that my clients have the opposite experience in the counseling session.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I learn who the client is as a person, what types of language choices do they use, slang, etc. I then meet the client where they are at. I strive to fully understand what recovery means to a client in as much detail as I can obtain. I truly believe that with a good roadmap of where the client wants to go, I can help them make those particular changes in their lives.
