About Colin
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 19 years of experience providing individual and group therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families. My work centers on a strengths-based approach that highlights each person’s abilities, relationships, and potential for growth. I specialize in helping clients navigate life’s challenges, heal from past experiences, and build meaningful connections that support lasting change.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan. My approach integrates trauma-informed care with cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and Gestalt therapy. I focus on the whole experience of health, promoting resilience and sustainable change within a safe, supportive environment.
Beginning therapy is a courageous step toward transformation. I strive to create a collaborative, respectful space where clients feel empowered to explore their emotions, strengthen coping skills, and make positive changes. Together, we work to cultivate self-awareness, overcome barriers, and move toward a more fulfilling, balanced life.

"Having gone through personal trauma and loss, I truly recognize how deeply we are affected by difficult life events. I've seen how developing new life skills can empower us to regain control and move forward."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a child and family therapist and social worker because I wanted to work with those who have suffered and been exposed to great hardships and support them and help guide through the hardest and most challenging parts of their lives.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I have worked with all ages. I have worked with infants and toddlers using the Reggio Emilia Approach, play therapy with school age children, special education with adolescents and teens, individual and family therapy with adults, and supported those in end of life transitions. I work best with those who I have good rapport with, who are not sure if therapy is right for them, and those offering to make time in their lives to try.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
There is no cure all to what we all face, all the changes and challenges we will go through in our lives, but there are those like me who want to help guide through what are the hardest things in life.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
I am interested in you sharing with me what you hope to get out of therapy, seeing if I'm a good fit for you, and goals for your future.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have lived a challenging life, growing up with many hardships and it is always humbling to know that there are those who have had even harder experiences. I value other's experiences and believe that I am constantly informed about how to be better or more attuned to my own privilege and finding grace to honor others.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I am the same person to everyone and I don't try to change myself based on assumptions or judgements. I prefer to meet with you where you are at, and not try to fit into a category or put you in a box. Everyone has unique problems and needs and it's my job to support any challenges or transitions you are going through.
