About Charlene
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 8 years of experience supporting individuals who feel weighed down by worry, sadness, or the pressure to keep everything together while quietly carrying too much. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, identity concerns, or major life transitions. I create a space where you can show up as your full self without hiding, shrinking, or making yourself smaller for others. My goal is to help you find clarity, grounding, and the freedom to breathe again.
I earned my master’s in social work from Walden University. I use evidence-based approaches and a strengths-focused perspective to help you slow down, understand what is happening inside, and reconnect with your inner voice. My style is warm, culturally aware, and rooted in authenticity, compassion, and honest communication.
If you’re ready to rediscover yourself and move toward the life you truly want, I’m here to walk that path with you. You don’t have to carry everything alone or keep shrinking yourself to make things easier for others. Healing begins with being seen, heard, and accepted as you are. Together, we’ll take steps toward balance, confidence, and lasting change.

"I meet people where they are, helping them find healing, balance, and meaning through honest conversation, compassion, and the freedom to simply be themselves, because I understand what it feels like to subtract bits and pieces of who you are just to make an environment comfortable."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I genuinely wanted to create a space where people feel seen, heard, and understood. I believe everyone has an inner voice that deserves attention, and my goal is to help clients reconnect with that voice, explore their challenges, and find clarity and healing at their own pace.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are open to self-reflection, willing to explore their emotions honestly, and ready to engage in the process of change even if it feels uncomfortable at times. I also deeply value working with clients navigating cultural stressors, anxiety, depression, or challenges related to identity, relationships, or life transitions.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that therapy is a process, not a quick fix. Healing takes time, patience, and willingness to sit with discomfort. Progress doesn’t always feel linear, but every step, no matter how small, is meaningful.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect a warm, judgment-free environment where we begin by exploring their concerns, goals, and what brought them to therapy. Early sessions often focus on building trust, understanding patterns, and identifying strengths we can draw on as we work together.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My personal experiences and values authenticity, compassion, and cultural awareness inform my practice. I’ve learned firsthand the importance of listening deeply, acknowledging lived experiences, and approaching each person with respect and understanding.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy to each client by meeting them where they are, listening closely to their needs, and using a blend of mindfulness, self-compassion, and evidence-based strategies. Every plan is collaborative, strengths-focused, and flexible, designed to support meaningful change at the client’s pace.
