About Brian
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 14 years of experience in the mental health field. I specialize in supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the complexities—and often confusion associated with—anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, and other challenges. I work collaboratively with clients to clearly define goals and a supportive environment aimed at achieving sustainable change.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from Portland State University. My clinical approach is client-centered and often grounded in narrative therapy to identify and externalize problems. Through the use of motivational interviewing, stages of change, and cognitive-behavioral modalities, I help clients build a realistic plan to achieve goals.
I understand what it's like to live with personal struggles and try to manage them on your own. Shame, stigma, and societal pressures often prevent people from accepting help. It takes courage and humility to confide in another about our own emotions. I encourage you to schedule an appointment to discuss how we can work together to achieve your goals.

"As a person who has experienced addiction, depression, and trauma/loss, I understand the complexities of navigating internal and external challenges when attempting to achieve goals and maintain quality of life. I am committed to helping others build resiliency and achieve their goals."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
As a person who has experienced addiction, depression, and trauma/loss, I understand the complexities of navigating internal and external hurdles when attempting to achieve personal recovery goals. I am committed to helping others over these huddles so they can achieve their goals.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with any client who desire personal change regardless of where they are in their journey.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
You are not the problem. The problem is the problem. You are the solution to the problem. You are the expert in your own life.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect me to provide a non-judgmental safe space where we will get to know each other and build trust. We will work together to establish goals that feel right for the client.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I understand from personal experience how difficult it is to navigate complex problems alone. I also understand how uncomfortable it can feel to share sensitive and personal feelings and information with someone else. I am dedicated to providing a safe place to discuss anything that is on a client's mind and walking alongside clients as they navigate their individual paths.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy using a person-centered approach. I am committed to collaborative goal-setting and trauma-informed practices.
