About Samantha
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 25 years of experience as a therapist. As a seasoned clinician, I have worked with diverse populations across the lifespan including adolescents, young adults, couples, and seniors. I work with people struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship issues and many other obstacles we all face. I know how difficult it can be to ask her help; it can be uncomfortable, and requires a great deal of personal courage. I truly feel that it is a privilege to help others endeavoring to navigate life's challenges.
I strive to provide a judgement-free space for my clients to feel seen and understood. I use evidence-based therapeutic techniques, drawing from CBT, DBT, ACT, psycho-dynamic therapy, among others. I believe in building on your strengths to improve your confidence and help you become the best version of yourself you can be.
Again, I commend you for seeking help, and invite you to take the next step by setting an appointment. Our first meeting will be relaxed as we get to know one another. Therapy will go at the pace you are comfortable with. I look forward to meeting and working with you!

"Life can be hard, and I believe we all benefit from the extra support counseling can bring. None of us are perfect, but we cannot let our mistakes define us. Life's challenges can make us stronger, and help us get to know our resilient selves. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because of my sincere desire to help others. I tried other fields early in my career, but nothing felt right until I took my first counseling class. I am naturally curious and empathetic, so counseling felt like a perfect fit.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with a variety of clients, and enjoy learning about each person's background and life experiences. I find a motivated client who feels ready for change is usually the most successful, but I welcome those who are ambivalent as well. You are here for a reason, and I will meet you where you are.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Therapy isn't "magical". If often takes time and hard work to make lasting progress. Our mental health is fluid, and we all have good days, bad days, and setbacks. This is normal and part of the human experience. Therapy can help you navigate life's challenges, supporting you during difficult times and learning skills to create more "good days".
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Our first session will be relaxed as we get to know one another. As we build a relationship and you start feeling comfortable with me, our sessions will start to naturally flow. We will move forward at your comfort level.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
As a "seasoned" clinician, I have a great deal of lived experience to draw from. Being a therapist does not mean that my life has been problem-free, or that I have always handled situations well. Far from it! We are all human and are doing our best to live a full life. I am no exception. I have gained some wisdom in my time on this planet, but I still have challenges and remain a work in progress.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
As we get to know one another, I will learn about your needs, your individual goals, learning style, etc. I will work with you to develop a treatment plan using interventions best suited for you personal goals.
