About Ryan
I am a licensed independent social worker (LISW) with over 29 years of experience helping adults and adolescents navigate grief, trauma, mood disorders, relationship challenges, and ADHD. I have worked across diverse settings, including hospital-based psychiatry, counseling centers, grief programs, nonprofit leadership, foster care and adoption agencies, and homeless shelters. These experiences have shaped my compassionate, relational, and holistic approach to care.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from New York University. My clinical approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and evidence-informed, integrating methods such as EMDR, relational dialogue, and trauma-informed care. I also provide practical strategies to support individuals and couples managing ADHD, grief, and trauma-related challenges.
Healing happens most powerfully within authentic relationships. I offer a supportive space where you can feel fully seen, heard, and respected as we work together to understand challenges, reconnect with strengths, and move toward resilience and growth. You do not have to face life’s struggles alone, and I would be honored to support you on your journey.

"I am and seek to be the type of therapist who is professional, trustworthy, honest, intellectually curious, fully present, hopeful, practical, wise, non-judgmental, and whole-hearted."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
As a college student, I experienced for the first time the transformation that can occur through a counseling relationship—and now I want to pass that along to others.
What types of clients do you work best with?
People who are ready to be open and honest with themselves so they can do the work that is essential for them to be the best version of themselves.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
The healing journey takes a series of small but courageous first steps. Scheduling and showing up to the first few sessions is often the hardest part, but that first outreach is actually when therapy begins.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
At the beginning of our work together I will ask for patience, especially in the first few counseling sessions. I will be asking a lot of questions and working to quickly build trust and mutual understanding. I also want to help people establish and move forward with the goals we have created for therapy.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have personally experienced the impact of feeling alone with my problems and living with undiagnosed and untreated mental illness. I have also experienced the hope and healing that happens when connecting with a therapist understands my biggest obstacles and points me toward my opportunities for growth as an individual and in my relationships.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I carefully listen and seek to learn about every client's story- including their learned behaviors, family and relationship background, culture, individual differences, and the truly unique situations they are facing that led them to seek a meeting with me.
