I firmly believe that mental health plays a vital role in our everyday well-being, and I am passionate about promoting its importance. Having personally experienced the value of therapy and the positive impact it can have, I am driven to share that understanding and provide support to others who may be going through similar struggles. By becoming a counselor, I hope to contribute to the well-being and overall happiness of those seeking guidance and support.
What types of clients do you work with best?
As a counselor, I believe that every client is unique and deserving of individualized care and attention. While I strive to provide effective support to clients from all walks of life, I find that I work particularly well with individuals who are motivated to prioritize their mental health. I enjoy collaborating with clients who are committed to personal growth and are actively seeking ways to improve their well-being. Additionally, I appreciate working with clients who approach therapy with an open mind, willing to explore new perspectives and engage in self-reflection. Ultimately, my goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients can discover their own unique path towards mental health and overall well-being.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am genuinely excited to work with clients who have made the brave decision to prioritize their mental health. To me, it signifies a willingness to invest in oneself and embark on a journey of self-discovery. No matter where clients are in their mental health journey, I am enthusiastic about being a part of their progress and growth. I am committed to supporting clients throughout their unique paths towards mental well-being and assisting them in creating meaningful and positive changes in their lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing I genuinely wish all clients knew is that the effectiveness of therapy greatly depends on their own investment in their mental health journey. It's a collaborative process where both the client and therapist play vital roles. I believe that when clients are equally dedicated to their well-being and actively engage in the therapeutic process, remarkable transformations can occur. Your decision to seek therapy is a significant and courageous step towards personal growth, and it reflects your commitment to being mentally healthy.

What inspires you?
What inspires me is the growing focus on mental health within the community, particularly among minorities. It is truly uplifting to witness the increasing awareness and conversations surrounding mental well-being. While there is still progress to be made, I find inspiration in the potential impact these discussions can have and the positive changes they can bring about.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In their first session with me, clients can expect to enter a space where they feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves. I strive to create an environment that fosters trust and openness, allowing clients to share their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. This session serves as an opportunity to establish rapport and begin building a collaborative relationship between client and therapist. Together, we will discuss goals, explore concerns, and outline a personalized approach to therapy. Ultimately, my aim is to ensure that clients feel supported, heard, and empowered as we embark on their therapeutic journey together.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session with an individual, my primary objectives are to create a safe and welcoming space, establish rapport, and lay a solid foundation for our future therapy sessions. I want to ensure that the client feels comfortable and supported from the moment we begin our conversation. By fostering a non-judgmental environment, I aim to encourage open and honest communication, allowing the client to freely express their thoughts, emotions, and concerns. This initial session serves as an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss goals, and outline the direction of our therapeutic journey. Together, we will work towards building a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust, collaboration, and mutual respect. By accomplishing these goals in the first session, we can set the stage for meaningful progress and growth as we continue our work together.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
Before scheduling a first counseling session with me, clients should know that I am dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space for individuals from all walks of life. I value diversity and strive to provide a welcoming environment where clients feel accepted and respected. Additionally, as a therapist, I am constantly seeking new and creative ways to approach treatment. I believe in the importance of ongoing learning and growth to better serve my clients.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
During my time off, I enjoy various activities that bring me joy and relaxation. One of my favorite things to do is spend quality time with my family, cherishing those special moments together. I also find pleasure in indulging in my favorite movies and TV shows, allowing me to unwind and immerse myself in captivating stories. Traveling is another passion of mine, as it allows me to explore new places, experience different cultures, and create lasting memories. Additionally, as a self-proclaimed Cleveland Foodie, I delight in discovering and savoring the diverse culinary offerings that my city has to offer. Engaging in these activities during my leisure time rejuvenates me and helps me maintain a healthy work-life balance.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing about me that defines me on a personal level is perseverance. In both the face of challenges and personal hardships, my motto has always been "Keep Going." This unwavering spirit has helped me overcome obstacles and continue moving forward. As the famous poem "Don't Quit" beautifully states, "...Rest if you must, but don't you quit." This quote not only embodies my belief in resilience and determination but also reflects my understanding of the importance of rest and self-care. It reminds me that while it's essential to persevere, taking time to rest and prioritize self-care is equally vital on the journey toward success and personal well-being.
